Renaissance Dinner

Step into an era when celebrations lasted for days, wine flowed freely, and guests were delighted with music, dancing - and maybe even a cannon salute or two.
In Kronborg’s impressive Ballroom, you can relive Frederick II’s lavish parties with a grand gala dinner or elegant Renaissance-style tapas. There’s space for both grand toasts and intimate conversations as you savor your meal in this iconic setting. The evening can be brought to life with live storytelling, where actors from the Hamlet drama reenact the castle’s famous tales, or you can try your hand at Renaissance dancing, just as it was done at royal feasts. So gather your guests, raise your glasses like a king, and let history and celebration come together at your next unforgettable event.

Lavish Banquet Feasts and Royal Rave Party

At the king's feasts, people went wild in the Renaissance style and literally set things off. For when the music played and the guests toasted, the sound echoed over the Øresund. Every time the king raised his glass, the cannons responded by firing across the strait. And this happened not just a few times, as guests could go through up to 50 courses in an evening. It could take more than 9 hours to get through the dinner, and often breaks and sick buckets had to be used.
