In this huge ballroom - actually the largest in the Nordic countries - the kings held the wildest parties. The cannons fired away every time the king toasted! How fast do you think you can sprint from one end to the other?

King Frederick II and Queen Sophie slept in a canopy bed like this one. So come and feel what it's like to live like a king and queen. Did you know that their son Christian IV - the one who built the Round Tower - also played here in the castle when he was a boy?

This is where the royal chef worked hard to cook up grand feasts - sometimes with more than 50 different dishes! Now it’s your turn: stir the big pots over the fire, bake tasty bread, and sniff the spices that filled the air long ago. Do you have what it takes to be the king’s next chef?

The cannons have been a part of the castle's history as a fortress, used for both defense and celebration. Today, they are fired as a tribute to the past, and it's an experience that fills the castle with both thunder and an adventurous atmosphere.
